Healthy Halloween Treat Recipes For Your Pups

Goblins and ghouls and ghosts, oh my! We’re dishing a few of our favorite healthy Halloween treat recipes to whip up for your pups this fall.

‘Tis the season for pumpkin spice lattes, waffles–and, basically anything pumpkin. But you’re not the only one who enjoys these seasonal flavors–your pup does too! And pumpkin is a fall favorite that’s highly beneficial for our furry friends.

It’s packed with digestion-regulating fiber and high in water content which, like us when we consume fibrous foods, helps regulate their bowel movements. Pumpkin also contains several other important nutrients, including beta-carotene, zinc, iron, vitamins A, E and C, and potassium.

Speaking of pumpkin, have you had a chance to make our pumpkin peanut balls? And, if you’re feeling extra DIY, you could plant an edible garden of pumpkins and other fruits and veggies to use in your pup’s Halloween treat recipes.

Pumpkin isn’t the only ingredient for whipping up healthy Halloween treat recipes for your puppers. There are several fun recipes to try with a variety of flavors and ingredients. Here are a few of our favorite seasonal delicacies to treat your pups with.

Also, remember that the quality of human food ingredients is important for your pup’s health. For example, anything pumpkin you plan on giving your dog, make sure it’s organic pumpkin and NOT pumpkin pie filling. Like any treat, it should be consumed in moderation. There are so many more sweet things to whip up, so have fun, get creative, and enjoy the kitchen with your pup this fall.
