4 Ways To Prepare Your Pet For Winter Park Dog Daycare

Doggy daycare provides fun, exercise, and socialization for your pup while you’re away. Here are four ways you can prepare your pet for Winter Park dog daycare at Rocky’s Retreat

Every proud dog owner finds joy in knowing their pet is living a peaceful, fun, and healthy life. Doggy daycare at Rocky’s Retreat offers all these experiences. Here are some ways that you can make sure your dog is set up to have the time of their life during their doggy daycare sessions with us.

1. Make Sure Your Pup Is Up-To-Date On Their Vaccinations

We want all of our canine friends to have a great time and stay safe when they come for a day at our Winter Park dog daycare. Making sure your pet is up-to-date on their veterinarian visits and vaccinations is an important way to accomplish this goal. Regular vet visits ensure that your dog is in good physical condition and is free of pests such as fleas, ticks, and heartworms.

We perform a general evaluation of every pet that visits Rocky’s Retreat. This allows us to get an idea of what activities are best for your dog, helping them to enjoy their experience to the fullest. More on this service is available on our dog daycare policies page

2. Take Them For A Playdate At The Dog Park

Our Winter Park dog daycare offers plenty of social time for your pet. We have playgroups where your dog will be able to run, jump, and play games with the other dogs at the daycare.

If your dog isn’t used to being around other dogs, taking them for a run at the dog park allows them to acclimate to being in group environments and can help you get a better sense of how your dog responds to others.

Socialization is just as important for dogs as it is for humans. It provides an opportunity for them to have fun, burn off excess energy, and learn how to interact when playing with new friends.

Allowing your pup to be involved in this important part of their lives will help them to face new experiences they may encounter with more comfort and ease.

If you would like even more help socializing your pet, our Winter Park dog daycare also offers dog socialization training. Signing your dog up for these sessions allows a trained professional to observe your dog’s behavior, and can help you learn new ways to help your dog manage anxiety, stop jumping on people when they visit your home, or reduce leash aggression. The information they receive from interacting with your dog can provide your dog with greater confidence and understanding when they spend time with other pets.

3. Ask About Health And Safety MeasuresWinter park dog daycare

There are also helpful questions you may ask about our facility. Getting information about the cleanliness of the facility and what chemicals are used to keep it clean are important.

If you have any questions about what measures we take to keep our canine friends safe and healthy, ask away!

4. Prepare For Adventure On Land And Sea

Rocky’s Retreat has one of Florida’s only temperature-controlled pools for dogs where we conduct our hydrotherapy and swim sessions for our furry friends. Canine hydrotherapy has shown to help dogs manage a variety of health-related conditions, including those associated with arthritis and recovery from surgery. This form of therapy can also aid in cognitive health challenges such as anxiety and depression. Don’t let your pup pass this opportunity up – add a canine hydrotherapy session when you book your doggy daycare appointment!

We also have a spacious sandpit in our backyard where your dog can run, dig, and fulfill their inner bunny-hunter. We don’t actually have any rabbits in our sandpit – but hey, it never hurts to dream!
